That said, I think it’s a good thing to be disappointed - it perhaps shows how far we’ve come since our poor start to the campaign. These points could have so easily been “must have” points had things not picked up for us in December.
Indeed, we begin March on a seven-game unbeaten run and we’ve got another chance to go on another run when we take on Bournemouth, Leicester and Hull. We could easily pick up nine points from these games but I’d take four as it would push us closer to the 40-point milestone.
It never fails to make me laugh that whenever we pick up any points, Chris Scull’s tweet bang on full time outlines how many points we have left to secure to guarantee another season on topflight football. He started in August…
Many of you will know Chris from his KUMB podcast days, but he can now be heard with the head-scratching funnyman Josh Widdicombe on the hilarious The 90s Football Show. Do check it out - you won’t regret it.
Turning to this month’s issue and I absolutely loved Phil Parkes’ column. It was absolutely spot on and we should never forget how bang average Chelsea were before Roman’s billions arrived. Emily Pulham’s piece on Adrian and whether or not we should offer him a new contract this summer is also a good read.
