Welcome to our December issue. This is always my favourite time of year with so many games played over the festive period. Christmas can make or break a season, and I really hope we are able to start climbing the table and get to January in mid-table.
Whatever happens, I cannot wait for the games to come thick and fast. The draw away at Man United was a good way to bounce back after the disappointment of the Spurs game. At the start of last month, I felt we could’ve secured four points from our three league games and, looking at the table at the end of November, we could’ve been joint 14th and three points clear of the relegation zone.
Another positive from our visit to Old Trafford was seeing Diafra Sakho scoring. It’s about time a striker found the net for us this season! The vital point in Manchester also set us up nicely for two tricky games against Arsenal and Liverpool before four very winnable games to end 2016.
A read of Pub Talk this month and I agree with the mentions of us needing 10 points. Anything less would be a disaster. Although Lucy Woolford’s piece doesn’t fill me with too much confidence. It also gives me great pleasure to welcome Phil Parkes to our team.
A huge thanks to our partners Claret and Hugh for taking on this column for us. I found myself nodding along to everything Phil has said in his first column - always a good start in my book. From everyone at the team I’d like to wish you a merry Christmas.
