High5it are a group of 10 fans. Not a club, or a bookmaker, or a faceless corporate entity, but fans. They love the game, and realise that the vast majority of other spectators do as well – and that’s the whole point behind them wanting to create something, and the thing they've come up with itself.
They realised that it is all too easy to become jaded, negative and cynical about the game we love – just listen to any phone-in or look at social media after a match for proof. So they decided what was needed was an injection of positive thinking. If you want to support your team, then do so by picking up your phone during the match and giving them a High5, for a pass, tackle, save, goal or overall performance; basically, do what fans are supposed to do. Support.
The Hi5app then creates a fans’ top five most appreciated players, and the one with the most High5s from supporters is named that game’s Man of the Match. Simple, eh? It doesn’t end there, though – from those figures, they can come up with a team of the week for each division, the best supported team of the week etc – the possibilities are huge. No-one else can come up with these statistics, or reproduce their honesty and authenticity. Only you, the fans.
Being fans themselves, that’s why they’ve made you, the fans, central to what they’re doing. It’s about interactivity, and being part of the game. You live and breathe the game – and now you’re at the heart of it.
There is no fee for using High5it, and all further promotions offered to users can be accepted or declined at will. Currently, to encourage fans to take part, they randomly select 50 people each week to £50. Winners are notified, and the names of those who have been lucky so far can be viewed on their social media platforms. Just think, next week – it could be you, just for giving your team your support.
Despite being the most important people at any club, as the random way in which kick-offs are moved around shows (to say nothing of changing shirt colours and badges), fans are often totally overlooked and taken for granted. High5it gives you a voice, and if the club can see that 25,000 of you agree on who should be the Man of the Match, then it’s a voice they would be wise to listen to. When they interact with you, they will come to the High5it app; in a nutshell, the more you put in, the more you’re going to get out of it. And all for doing nothing more than supporting your team, like any true fan should.
High5it is not afraid to say it’s aiming, well, high – but then what else would you expect? Their goal is that one year they can host the High5It Supporters’ Player of the Year awards, based around the statistics and data your support generates, and they’d love to invite as many as possible of you along to that event. Who knows, your virtual High5s might even add up to a real one with the player of your choice!
High5it is free and easy to use, and allows you to have a positive say on what goes on in front of you on the pitch. Let’s be clear – this is a positive innovation for positive thoughts. There are already too many other channels full of negative vibes; this is by supporters, for supporters, to support. Sign up and you’ll receive promotions direct to your handset for being part of the scheme.
Your support can make a big difference to your team on and off the pitch, and you can make High5it grow and become a habitual way of enhancing enjoyment of the game for your fans and your club. So sign up now. After years of other people owning the game, the power to change the way you watch football is – finally - in your own hands. And that can only be a positive thing.
